Diamond Jubilee-"Yesterday, August 1st, the school celebrated its 60th year of its founding. It was raining quite heavily and it looked as though the sky reenacted the scene of 1945, August the 1st.

The morning assembly was dedicated to this exciting event. The whole school had gathered in the main auditorium. he task force for this event had prepared a wonderful programme. The secondary students put up a skit reenacting the scene way back in 1940s when the idea of having a Bahai school was first mooted by Mr. Mihrshahi and the arrival of Rezwan Khanum with 16 children to Panchgani. This was interspersed with slide presentation of the development of the school from 1971 till the present period.

Last night, it was opened to the Principals of Panchgani and several other invited guest. Mr. Akhtarkhavari was the chief guest. He spoke of his early days when he was the secretary of the school committee for 18 long years. Mrs Tahira Mihrshahi who was one of the early students of New Era recall her early days. The programme ended with dinner served in the main school dining hall.
