Dear Baha’i Friends,

We rejoice with you in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the New Era School.

The significant advances which that blessed institution has achieved in the last five decades, its outstanding accomplishments and its considerable prominence among educational establishments in that region and beyond are all heart-warming proofs of its solid foundation, and are indicative of its bright future.

On this occasion of celebration, let us not forget the dedication and vision shown by the few humble and inexperienced Baha’is who, half a century ago, founded the New Era School with a mere handful of children in a small old house in Panchgani. From this modest start, the school, backed by divine confirmations, supported by the Baha’i administrative institutions and blessed by the sacrificial efforts of its dedicated staff, has grown into a substantial and flourishing educational institution which now enjoys renown amongst Baha’is throughout the world.

The New Era School should be regarded not as just another academic establishment. Although the promotion of academic learning is one of its main functions, the need to foster moral development and to uphold spiritual values should always be kept in the forefront of its activities. This will be as true for the school in the future as it has been throughout its distinguished history. The goal must always remain not only to train the minds of the young people, but also to imbue them with such moral and spiritual characteristics that they will reflect throughout their lives the Teachings of Bahá’u’lláh and the principles of His Faith in service to mankind.

We assure you of our prayers in the Holy Shrines for the further success of the New ra School in the coming years, and for the confirmations of the Blessed Beauty upon its students, its staff and its supporters.
