| New
Era High School has been offering International Education to students
for the last 25 years. This course is intended for international
students, or for the students who wish to go abroad, or for those who
want to have a wider choice of subjects according to their aptitudes
and capabilities. |
| IGCSE
(International General Certificate of Secondary Education) at New
Era is a two year course which is equivalent to standard 9th and 10th
of Indian
Boards. Our Centre number is IN487. |

As per mission statement of
school,
moral as well as academic development is very essential for the
growth of the student. Therefore the school offers an interactive and
comprehensive moral education program
The extracurricular activities
offered
are sports, vocations and clubs. These help the students to relax,
develop their physique as well as develop a team spirit.

| Every
subject has two levels – Core and Extended. The core level tests
the basics of the concerned subject whereas the extended level tests
more the understanding and applications. Exams are held in May and June
every year. The results are available to the students by the 3rd week
of August. |

| The
grades begin from A* which is the highest and continue until H. The
failure grade is 'U'. These grades are based on percentile system all
over the world. A* is the grade for the top 5% rankers in the world.
According to the Indian System of Education, C grade is the minimum
pass mark. |
| CIE
(Cambridge International Examinations) qualifications are accepted in
all the foreign and Indian Universities. After completion of IGCSE, the
students may go for A Level and IB courses (International
Baccalaureate). |
| In
the IGCSE course, students are allowed to use calculators and the
latest technology in the learning process. The CIE expects that the
students to develop the skills in advanced technology. CIE is planning
to start online examinations to save paper and the environment. |
| We
have well equipped laboratories and qualified and experienced teachers
to handle the curriculum. The teachers are regularly given refresher
courses and training by the University to update their knowledge. The
University is in constant contact with the teachers and gets their
feedback through the Internet. There is regular updating of subjects. |

Last year our Teacher in English
had
got accreditation to mark IGCSE coursework by experience. In the
final exam last year(June 2009), our students earned 15 A* (2 in
Biology,4 in Chemistry 1 in French, 2 in ICT 3 in Mathematics and 3
in Physics), which means these students came in the t op 5% of
students who appeared in the exam all over the world. As per marks
out of 13 students, 8 had merit and 5 had first class.
Soghi Azarin stood first with A*
in
five subjects. Dax Patel got A* in four subjects and Kishan Savani in
three subjects.
A seminar on Higher Education was
held
on 28th Oct 2009 in the Secondary Audio Visual room UK for IGCSE and
Std XI students. Ms. Kharishma Captain (Manager Education UK) from
British Council conducted the seminar.
She explained about various
recognized
universities and various courses available to the students to study
in UK. She also explained about the cost of education and the
scholarships provided. How to select the particular courses and
the University was discussed with students. She also explained about
the online registration and gave the details of common Entrance
examination for higher studies.
She explained how to map out the
future
to the students containing contact details of British council
offices. The doubts of the students were clarified. All the students
present registered their names with British council for further
information. The students were very happy and wanted such seminars
often.
