A Big Cannon on Top of the Daulatbad Fort

AURANGABAD - CLASS 6

AJANTA CAVES: The students visited 7 of the 30 caves at Ajanta. They saw excellent murals, which depict the events in the life of Gautama Buddha. The paintings on the walls and ceilings still look fresh and bright after 1500 years.

On 18th Nov. the students visited the Daulatbad Fort which was built by the Yadava kings & later captured by the Mughals.

THE ELLORA CAVES: The students saw 9 caves and a temple. The Kailash temple was carved very beautifully from top to bottom. It was amazing to see the skill of the sculptors of olden times.

On the way home students and staff stopped at the Grishneshwar temple. To their astonishment the boys had to remove their shirts. They did their aarti and then resumed the journey.

JANJIRA & ALIBAUGH - CLASS 7

Class Seven went to Murud Janjira and Alibaugh. This Muslim town once had its own Nawab. The attraction of this town is the island fortress by the same name.

Huge sailboats took the children to the entrance of the fort.

ALIBAUG: The students visited the Alibaug fort which is out at sea. It was a hard half-hour trek from the beach.

SURYA SHIBIR: An ‘Environment Camp’ started with visiting Surya Shibir near Panshet approximately 40 Km beyond Pune. By a launch the students crossed a lake 6 nautical miles wide. The two interesting activities were stargazing and jungle trekking.

BANGALORE & MYSORE- CLASS 8

BANGALORE: The first visit was to the Bull temple or Nandi temple on 17th Nov. This is one of the Bangalor’s oldest temples.

The next stop was at Lal Bagh. They saw a large lake with many water birds a glass house in the middle of the garden, the rose garden, lotus paintings, floral clocks and a large aquarium.

Next they visited the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum. The exhibits demonstrate different applications of science and technology in industry and for human welfare. On the way back, they saw the Vidhan Sabha, a magnificent structure built in 1954.

MYSORE: On Nov. 19th, the students visited Mysore Palace built in 1912. It is one of the largest palaces in India.

Next they went to Srirangapatnam, the place where Tipu Sultan along with his parents is buried.

HYDERABAD - CLASS 9

In Hyderabad and Secunderabad the students visited the Charminar, the Hussain Sagar Lake, Ramoji Film City, the zoo, the Museum, the fort of the Golconda, the Birla temple and Shilparamam, a mini handicraft exhibition. Everyone was fascinated by the huge Buddha statue in the Hussain Sagar Lake.
Std. 10 Visit to the Taj

DELHI AND AGRA - CLASS 10

The main objective of the tour was to see the historical monuments of India and the institutions of the Central Government, a part of the standard 10 syllabus.

DELHI:
The students visited Red Fort, the Qutab Minar, the Raj Ghat, the Nehru Planetarium and the famous Bahai Lotus Temple. The visit to the temple provided a spiritual experience and a vision of the oneness of God and religion.

Students had to be content with only passing views of the India Gate, the Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the Parliament House from the running bus due to the restrictions imposed by the security department.

AGRA: Visiting the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, was an exciting experience. Next was the Agra Fort built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. This study tour brought a sense of pride in students’ minds towards the rich heritage of India.
