Our School Prefects

In a boarding school, the prefect system plays a predominant role in the day-to-day functioning of the school. At New Era , main objectives of the prefect system are to inculcate spiritual and social values and to bring forth talents latent in a child. The prefect body comprises of thirty two students who represent four clusters- Peace, Respect, Harmony and Wisdom. One of the senior students is appointed as Head Girl or Head Boy. Prefects are committed to adhere to all school rules. They should be just , fair, loving and caring. They should show moderation in all approaches.

• Make the children understand that rules are made for their betterment and hence it should be followed.
• Maintain conducive atmosphere for studies in the dormitories and classes.
• Encourage students to participate in social welfare and development activities.
• Help the school in maintaining discipline, order and cleanliness.
• Make the students understand the importance of protecting the school´s property.
• Train the students to minimize the use of water and electricity.
• Assist the staff whenever asked for.
• Check the students dress code and make sure the students come to class with proper uniforms.
• Be a link between Management and the students.

The prefect advisers conduct regular meetings with prefects to identify the problems and solve them in an effective way. Our prefects advisors are: Ms.Zarine Spencer, Mr.Shivaji Shinde and Mrs.Parvaneh Javanmardi.
